Pharmaceutical Security Organizations

Pharmaceutical Security Institute (PSI)
The Pharmaceutical Security Institute is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to protecting the public health, sharing information on the counterfeiting of pharmaceuticals and initiating enforcement actions through appropriate authorities

Rx-360 is a non-profit consortium working to continuously improve the pharmaceutical supply chain by creating and monitoring a global quality system that meets the expectations of industry and regulators that assures patient safety by guaranteeing product quality and authenticity throughout the supply chain.

National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI)
NADDI is a non-profit organization that facilitates cooperation between law enforcement, healthcare professionals, state regulatory agencies and pharmaceutical manufacturers in the prevention and investigation of prescription drug diversion.

In an ongoing effort to combat the abuse and diversion of prescription drugs, Purdue Pharma L.P. conceived, developed and funded an information clearinghouse for data related to pharmacy robberies, burglaries and cargo thefts that involve the loss of controlled substances. RxPATROL (Pattern Analysis Tracking Robberies and Other Losses) is an initiative designed to collect, collate, analyze and disseminate pharmacy theft intelligence to law enforcement throughout the nation.


Federal Regulatory Entities

FDA Cargo Theft Website
FDA is committed to protecting consumers from the threat of stolen, counterfeit, and diverted FDA-regulated products such as prescription or over-the-counter medicines, medical devices, or infant formula. This webpage provides timely notice to the public about cargo thefts involving FDA-regulated products that have been stolen either from warehouses or tractor-trailers.

Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council (Through HHS)
The Healthcare and Public Health (HPH) Sector Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Program in the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response leads a unique public and private sector partnership known as the Healthcare Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC) in protecting the essential goods, services and functions of healthcare and public health that, if destroyed or compromised would negatively affect the nation.

U.S. Customs Pharmaceutical Center of Excellence and Expertise
The Pharmaceutical Center of Excellence and Expertise (Centers) transforms the way CBP approaches trade operations and works with the international trade community. The Centers were established to increase uniformity of practices across ports of entry, facilitate the timely resolution of trade compliance issues nationwide, and further strengthen critical agency knowledge on key industry practices.

U.S. Customs C-TPAT Program
C-TPAT is a voluntary government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve overall international supply chain and U.S. border security.

Transportation Security Administration’s Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP)
The CCSP is a voluntary, government based initiative designed to ensure the safety of the traveling public. The TSA designed this program to provide businesses with the option to screen cargo which would travel on passenger aircraft in a cost-effective manner and at various points of the supply chain.


Pharmaceutical Industry Associations

Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA)
A member-based trade association, CHPA represents the leading manufacturers and marketers of over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and dietary supplements. The association provides leadership and guidance on regulatory and scientific issues to Congress; state legislatures; and federal, state, and international government agencies. CHPA also shares educational tools and information with partners across the globe to ensure the safe and responsible use of OTC medicines.

Healthcare Ready
Healthcare Ready (formerly Rx Response) helps to strengthen healthcare supply chains through collaboration with public health and private sectors by addressing pressing issues before, during, and after disasters. As the convener of industry and government, they safeguard patient health by providing solutions to critical problems. They also provide best practices for healthcare preparedness and response.

National Association of Boards of Pharmacy®
NABP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit association that protects public health by assisting its member boards of pharmacy and offers programs that promote safe pharmacy practices for the benefit of consumers.

The Health and Personal Care Logistics Conference
The Health and Personal Care Logistics Conference has existed for more than 80 years as a source of logistics education for the health and personal care industries. It is made up of industry professionals whose purpose is to continually examine the logistics field and provide a forum to discuss, examine and exchange ideas with peers.


Supply Chain Security Associations

Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA)
TAPA is a worldwide coalition of manufacturers, shippers, carriers, insurers, service providers, law enforcement and government agencies concerned with the risks of criminal activity against High Value Theft Targeted (HVTT) cargo in the transportation supply chain. TAPA members work together to prevent theft and other crimes against the transportation supply chain through the sharing of information, development of supply chain security standards and cooperation with government agencies.

American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS)
ASIS International is the leading organization for security professionals worldwide. Founded in 1955, ASIS is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security interests, such as in the pharmaceutical and transportation industries. ASIS also advocates the role and value of the security management profession to business, the media, government entities and the public.


Supply Chain Security Intelligence

The British Standards Institution (BSi)
BSi offers a complete risk management suite to help manage global supply chain security, corporate social responsibility and business continuity threats. Their solutions and services allow organizations to predict and visualize risk with precision.

Sensitech Intelligence Center
Sensitech (formally FreightWatch International) is a leading global provider of logistics security solutions that are designed to harden the supply chain. They also provide supply chain security intelligence information to a variety of entities.

The purpose of CargoNet is to prevent cargo theft and increase recovery rates through secure and controlled information sharing among theft victims, their business partners, law enforcement and NICB.

Cargo Security Alliance
The Cargo Security Alliance provides tools, techniques, technologies and thought leadership in logistics security to mitigate risk and optimize cargo flow across the global air, sea and land supply chains.


Supply Chain Security Councils

Northeast Transportation Security Council
The Northeast Transportation Security Council monitors, collects data, reports and educates on supply chain theft activity in the northeast portion of the United States.

Southeast Transportation Security Council (SETSC)
The SETSC monitors, collects data, reports and educates on supply chain theft activity in the southeast portion of the United States.

Southwest Transportation Security Council (SWTSC)
The SWTSC was formed to promote a partnership among Transportation Security Management groups and law enforcement to enhance communication and cooperation with a focus on transportation security and cargo theft in Texas and the Southwest area of the United States.

Western States Cargo Theft Association (WSCTA)
The WSCTA monitors, collects data, reports and educates on supply chain theft activity in the western portion of the United States.

National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service
This UK-based intelligence team brings together law enforcement agencies and private industry partners to develop strategies to prevent and detect vehicle related crime both at home and abroad.


Import/Export Trade Associations

Coalition of New England Companies for Trade (CONECT)
CONECT is a non-profit, member-based business association for companies involved in international trade and/or transportation. Incorporated in 1991, CONECT now serves more than 1,200 members representing over 300 U.S. companies and organizations, including major importers, exporters and related service providers.

Long Island Import/Export Association (LIIEA)
LIIEA is one of the best resources for companies that are thinking of importing or exporting products or services.
